Bold Style: LuLaRoe Skyler Dress Review

I always have a story in my mind about the dresses that I wear. I like to think of each of them as having a personality and inviting me into a different world. 

The Skyler is a dress with many stories. It could be the dress that Katniss Everdeen’s mom wore to the reapings when she was young. It could also be that dress that takes me into the story and letters of the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. In any case, she has got bold style and is not afraid to go out there and flaunt it.

Sizing and Fit

The Skyler Midi Button Front design is designed to be fitted. I have only tried my true to size in the dress and have found it to be fantastic. I am not sure I would go down a size, but will update you if I try. I think it would be fine to go up one and have just a little more room. 

Fabric and Feel

The Skyler is made with a luxurious TSP Gauze Knit fabric, a blend of 97% polyester and 3% spandex. A fabric that feels on the fancy side and uplevels the look. It has a medium-light stretch to it that I like and helps keep it fitted, but not so much that I feel like it becomes unflattering. It is very nice and light and works well for summer but can have a nice cover or jacket added to make it ready to go for the other seasons. 

Practical Features

The Skyler includes several stylish details:

• Puffed sleeves 
• Nice midi length and skirt that twirl when called upon 
• Button front detailing 
• Side seem pockets 
• Shirring in the front shoulder and back yoke that adds interest 
• Elastic waistband at the back that helps with the flattering fit 

Clothing Care

I’m the kind of person who avoids the dry cleaners whenever possible—I like clothes that are easy to care for at home.

To keep your Skyler dress looking her best, wash her…..  by hand in cold water and line dry in the shade. I usually hang mine on a hanger in the bathroom with a fan on. They’re typically dry and ready to wear by the next morning (or later that same day if I wash them early).

You can iron on low if needed, but do not dry clean!

Following the care instructions will help your Joeys stay looking new much longer. The fabric can pill if it isn’t treated properly, so be gentle.

When to Wear Skyler

I’d wear my Skyler in the following places:

• On a day that I just want to look nicer - it’s very comfortable for all day wear!
• On a date
• At church 
• Special events 

How to Style Skyler

Skyler styles beautifully with:

• Some nice jewelry 
• A cardigan, cover-up, or jacket for when the weather gets more chill 
• Dress up with a nice pair of heels or dress down with some tennis shoes and a jean jacket
