Episode 4: 10 Lessons I have learned from moving is up!
Check out my latest podcast here!
For the past several weeks I’ve been working on a big project: getting my house of 14 years ready to sell.
That has meant decluttering, repairing things, rearranging rooms, staging the house, and honestly doing a lot of thinking along the way.
I expected to learn some lessons from the process, and it turns out there have been quite a few. In this episode I share ten of them — lessons about letting things go, handling change, accepting feedback, simplifying life, and learning to sit in the waiting place.
Some of these lessons came from the practical work of preparing a home. Others came from the emotions that come with change.
Either way, they’ve been meaningful reminders about life and growth, and I hope they help you reflect on your own season as well.
In this episode I talk about:
• Letting go of things and shifting your mindset when decluttering
• The emotional side of big life changes
• Doing your best and letting things be imperfect
• Learning how to receive feedback
• Facing worst-case scenarios and moving forward anyway
• Simplifying meals, schedules, and responsibilities when life is full
• Appreciating the help others give
• The importance of community
• Seeing new possibilities when you rearrange things
• Learning how to live in the waiting place
