Everything You Need to Know About the LuLaRoe Irma (Before You Buy!)
Change can be terrifying.
Not because it’s wrong—but because it usually requires a leap of faith into the unknown. We don’t know if it’ll work. We’re not sure what will happen. And deep down, we wonder if we have what it takes.
As a member of the board for a small local nonprofit, I’ve seen this up close. For years, we’ve watched the women we serve—brave, resilient women—carry heavy burdens with quiet strength. They keep going because they care deeply. But too often, they’re worn thin.
The answer? Radical change.
Not the kind that flips everything upside down, but the kind that invites us to scale back in a few areas—so we can give more in the ones that matter. More love. More support. More presence. More purpose.
Honestly, I feel echoes of that same tension (on a much smaller scale) every time I try on something new to wear. Most of us have a few go-to pieces on repeat—and that’s not a bad thing. It saves decision fatigue and brain cells. But as the seasons shift, there’s a gentle invitation to pause and ask:
Does what I wear still reflect who I am right now?
That’s the spirit behind this post. I’m reviewing the LuLaRoe Irma Tunic—a piece I wasn’t sure about at first, but found myself surprisingly drawn to because it adds something fun and a little different from my norm. And maybe, just maybe, you’re ready to try something new too.
Not because you have to.
But because it might bring you back to yourself—this current, evolving version of you—in a way that feels simple, intentional, and right on time.
Sizing and Fit
The Irma Tunic is designed with a unique balance: fitted in the sleeves, flowy through the body. That contrast is part of what makes her special—but it also means sizing can feel a bit tricky at first.
Here’s what I’ve learned (and heard from many other women too):
You can often size down—but you’ll want to watch the arms. The sleeves are snug, even in the right size. Personally, I can wear an XXS, but it feels tight and restrictive in the arms. I usually prefer an XS or to stick with my true size (S) for the best fits. Any larger than that, and the neckline and flow get a little too oversized for my taste.
My advice? Start with your usual size or one down, and see how it feels in the arms and shoulders. It’s meant to feel relaxed, not restrictive.

Fabric and Feel
The Irmas I carry in the shop come in a variety of fabrics—but most often, you’ll find them in a jersey knit blend: 95% polyester and 5% spandex. That combo gives a nice amount of stretch and movement without losing shape.
If fabric type really matters to you (I get it—some of us are texture-sensitive!), feel free to reach out through my contact form. I’m happy to check the specific piece you’re eyeing and give you the details.
Most have a medium stretch. The key benefit? Breathability. Especially in the arms, which—yes, again!—can feel snug in some fabrics. For me my favorite part is how comfortable it is on a day when I just want to feel relaxed.
Practical Features
Here’s what sets the Irma apart:
- High-low hemline (longer in back = legging friendly!)
- Drop shoulders
- Fitted half sleeves
- Relaxed, flowy body
- Scoop neckline
- Comes in a wide variety of fun prints and patterns
It’s modest but modern. Comfortable but still stylish. And so easy to dress up or down.

Clothing Care
I’m not a dry-clean-only kind of girl—I want pieces I can care for at home, without stress. The Irma is mostly low-maintenance, but still deserves a little TLC.
Here’s how I care for mine:
- Wash on delicate or cold cycle
- Line dry or hang in the shower
- Occasionally run a fan over it to speed things up
Check your tag first, since fabric content can vary. Being gentle helps reduce pilling and keeps your Irma looking newer, longer.
When to Wear Irma
Irma is an easy grab-and-go piece. You’ll find her fitting in beautifully for:
- A casual day at home or running errands
- Park days or walks
- Church or small gatherings (especially if styled with the right pieces and accessories)
- Layered for cooler weather
It’s one of those pieces that’s as comfortable on the couch as it is with friends.
How to Style Irma
She’s incredibly versatile. Some of my favorite ways to wear her:
- With leggings (the longer hemline makes this a perfect match)
- Under a cozy cardigan or jacket
- With denim—skinnies, straight, or even a fun flare
- Tucked into a skirt or worn loose with colored pants
Take her on your next adventure—whether that’s a Target run or a mountain view picnic—and see how she shows up for you.
